• Physician Assistant

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director, provides health care services to patients under direction and supervision of a Physician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection-management.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
    Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Maintains a courteous, helpful, and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers, patients, and their families, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • All other duties assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

P.A.-C Satisfactory completion of primary care Physician Assistant program with bachelors or masters degree. Must be eligible and complete Michigan Licensure.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percents, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
