Thomas Scott was born and raised in Muskegon Heights, MI. He excelled in football and went to Ohio State University on a football scholarship until and injury cut his career short. He returned to Michigan and started work at Union Bank and Trust in Grand Rapids. He went on to Hackley Bank and become the first African-American officer at the bank. Thomas worked for the City of Muskegon Heights as the Asst. City Controller and eventually to the Planning and Community Development where he helped plan the Woodcliffe Subdivision. He was a District Manager with AFLAC for 17 years and he worked on the 2000, 2010, and 2020 Census Projects. Thomas is a patient at Muskegon Family Care.
