Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP)

Maternal & Infant Care

In the Maternal Infant Health Program, it is our goal to have healthy pregnancy outcomes and thriving infants by providing support, education, and resources to expectant families and infants through a baby’s eighteen months.

Professional Care at Home

The Maternal Infant Health Program is a free one-on-one service to Medicaid eligible families throughout the state of Michigan. Our team of registered nurses and licensed social workers provide home and community based services to your family one on one. Caring for you and your infant is our top priority. Services include helping you learn about your baby’s growth and development, birth control and family planning, safe sleep, breastfeeding, age appropriate foods and activities, reducing stress, and developing healthy relationships.

Additional Support Services

We can also help you access community resources, baby supplies, transportation, housing, counseling, treatment for drug/alcohol issues, and navigating DHHS. Our visits are unique to what would be most helpful to your family and are designed to be an additional support to your family.
