Shameika Johnson is a native of Muskegon Heights and a proud graduate of Muskegon Heights Public Schools. She currently serves as a Program Advisor for the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates program at Muskegon Heights Academy, a program focused on helping to guide high schools students on a pathway of discovery for their futures through exposure to various career fields, skilled trades, and colleges or universities; with a primary focus on high school completion and productive citizenship.
Upon graduating from Muskegon Heights High School, Shameika attended the University of Detroit Mercy to obtain her bachelors degree in English Literature, with a Minor in Women & Gender Studies, and a certificate in African American Studies. She later attended Western Michigan University to obtain a masters degree in Educational Leadership, with a focus in K-12 Administration.
In addition to her accomplishments, Shameika is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she currently serves as the Recording Secretary of the Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter. She is extremely passionate about community service and leading by example for youth through mentorship and coaching.
