In the Maternal Infant Health Program, it is our goal to have healthy pregnancy outcomes and thriving infants by providing support, education and resources to pregnant women and infants through a baby’s first year.
The Maternal infant health program is a free service to Medicaid eligible families throughout the state of Michigan. Our home based services are provided by an encouraging, professional team of registered nurses and social workers. Caring for you and your infant is our top priority.
Some services we provide include helping you learn about your baby’s growth and development, birth control and family planning, safe sleep, breastfeeding, age appropriate foods and activities, reducing stress and developing healthy relationships. We can also help you access community resources, baby supplies, transportation, housing, counseling, treatment for drug/alcohol issues, and navigating DHHS. Our visits are unique to what would be most helpful to your family and are designed to be an additional support to your family.
We understand that pregnancy, and parenting can bring up worries, fears and lots of questions. We are here to come along side you through your pregnancy and first year of your parenting journey.
To enroll in the program, a home visitor will schedule a time to meet with you and ask our intake questions to figure out how we can best serve your family.
Hours
We offer flexible scheduling to meet when your family is available, including evenings and weekends, when needed, by appointment only.
