Dr. Merritt is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with more than 25 years of experience serving patients in West Michigan. She joined Muskegon Family Care from 2013 to 2016 and returned to the team in May 2025.
Born and raised in Inkster, Michigan, Dr. Merritt earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Michigan State University. She then completed her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences before returning to Michigan to complete her Family Medicine residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
In addition to practicing comprehensive family medicine, Dr. Merritt provided low-risk obstetrical care for 13 years, delivering babies and caring for both mothers and their newborns. Over the past 12 years, she has focused her practice on general family medicine, continuing her commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered primary care. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Merritt enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children. She values family activities, sports events, traveling, and participating in church events.
